July 3, 2026: tour “Who did the Ashkenazim meet in Jerusalem”

We are pleased to invite you to a walking tour organized by Jerusalem's Old Yishuv Courtyard Museum with the support of the National Authority for Yiddish Culture.

This event, entitled “Who Did the Ashkenazi Meet When They Arrived in Jerusalem?”, will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 9:00 AM.

When Ashkenazi Jews arrived in Jerusalem in the 19th century, they encountered members of other Jewish communities. This tour of the Jewish Quarter of the Old City traces the history of the Ashkenazi Jews who came to Jerusalem, exploring their relationships with different communities, internal tensions, inter-community marriages, and more.

    Guide: Dr. Eyal Davidson.
