Laureates of the 2026 Yiddish Authority Awards chosen
Since 2015, the National Authority for Yiddish Culture annually awards prizes to prominent figures in the fields of arts and literature who contribute significantly to Yiddish language and culture in Israel.
In 2026, bestow the lifetime achievement award upon Beit Shalom Aleichem (a cultural and academic center in Tel Aviv that has been working for 60 years to preserve, promote, and make accessible the Yiddish language and culture).
ORT Holon High School (where students study Yiddish for their high school diploma under the guidance of teacher Dr. Shoshana Dominsky) receives the Honorary Award.
Ms. Anat Atzmon (an actress and singer who contributes greatly to the preservation and promotion of Yiddish art) receives the Honorary Award, too.
