February 20: Memorial for Nechama Lifshitz in Tel Aviv
On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, a memorial event in honor of the Yiddish singer Nechama Lifshitz (1927 – 2017), known as "the nightingale of Soviet Jewry," will take place at Tzavta Hall, Ibn Gvirol St. 30, Tel Aviv, at 7:30 p.m.
The event will include a rich concert program, featuring students of the Yiddish singing workshop founded by Lifshitz as well as singer Re'ut Ben-Ze'ev. Regina Dricker, musical arranger and the studio's current director, will produce the artistic program.
New Yorker Zalmen Mlotek, conductor, pianist, musical arranger, accompanist, composer, and the Artistic Director of the National Yiddish Theatre – Folksbiene, will be among the guests of honor.
