Bar-Ilan Professors Kick Off Cultural Season in the Arbeter Ring
On Wednesday, September 7th, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., the Israeli branch of the Arbeter Ring (Workmen's Circle), located at Kalisher St. 48, Tel Aviv will launch its 2016/2017 cultural season.
Professor Nati Cohen of Bar-Ilan University will give a talk entitled, "What did Yiddish Speakers Read 120 Years Ago?" Following the lecture, singer Vira Lozinsky will perform Yiddish songs accompanied by Regina Dricker on the piano. The event will be sponsored by the National Authority for Yiddish Culture.
Two weeks later, on September 21st at 11:30 a.m., another Bar-Ilan professor, Dov-Ber Kotlerman, will lecture at the Arbeter Ring about the last days of one of the Yiddish language's most peculiar and mysterious authors: Der Nister. Singer Esti Nisim will also perform at the event.
