All Issues of “Lebns-fragn” Digitized

The Israeli branch of "Arbeter-ring" (Workmen's Circle) is delighted to announce the digitization of the entire collection of published issues of “Lebns-fragn" ("Life Issues"). The monthly magazine was the official publication of the Arbeter-ring for 63 consecutive years (1951 – 2014); it was the last Yiddish magazine to be published in Israel.

Every page of every issue of “Lebns-fragn" is now accessible to the general public. Scholars researching Jewish social, political and cultural history and Yiddish lovers will especially find it of interest. The digital archive constitutes a treasure trove of information with great historical importance.

The digitization project was sponsored through the bequeathal of devoted “Lebns-fragn" reader Pinkhas (Pinek) Kristal (Warsaw 1919 – Melbourne 2009) and was carried out by the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem.
